The areas with the highest concentration of hotels on the island are located in the town of Los Cancajos and in the capital, Santa Cruz. To visit La Palma is to soak up its culture, its traditions, its nature, its customs, and also its flavours. Its gastronomy is based on its raw materials, its products, which are naturally available: fruit and vegetables, with an outstanding place for bananas, mangoes and avocados, nuts, goat's cheese, fish, wines... Extensive banana plantations occupy a large part of its territory, almond trees in the northwest and vineyards, especially around Fuencaliente.
