La Palma by sea

La Palma is the ideal place to soak up nature. It is home to one of the three Marine Reserves of the Canary Islands, with an underwater volcanic landscape of great beauty, so that diving into its waters is to enter a universe of diversity and colour. Volcanic eruptions have created, both in the north and south of the island, a marine ecosystem of rare rocks and fascinating arches, towers and caves. Letting yourself glide through them, with their whimsical rock formations is, without a doubt, a unique experience. In addition, the brightness and good temperature of its ocean favours the practice of scuba diving during most of the year.

The harbour of Tazacorte, on the west coast of La Palma, is the base for sea excursions. In addition to the numerous caves and reefs along the island's coastline, there are opportunities to see cetaceans, turtles and various species of fish (including the amusing flying fish). Undoubtedly, an unforgettable experience.

The waters of La Palma are also ideal for canoeing, especially along the sheltered coastline of Fuencaliente. Another essential way to discover the island is to go all over its cliffy coastline, with its beautiful shapes, its improvised natural pools capriciously sculpted among its rocks and its hidden caves with their curious ceilings.

La Palma by air

The island of La Palma is a stellar viewpoint. Thanks to its dark, clear skies almost all year round, it has become one of the most privileged places on the planet for observing the firmament.

Another of the must-see spectacles on the Isla Bonita is its extraordinary sea of clouds, a phenomenon created as a result of the meeting of the trade winds and the island's high mountains. This sea of clouds overflows the mountains on the southern slope and breaks up, flowing down the hillside as if it were a cascade of clouds.

If La Palma is beautiful by land and sea, it is also beautiful by air. The mildness of its climatic conditions, together with its special orographic characteristics and orientation to the prevailing winds, allows free flight for at least three hundred and thirty days a year in its many flying areas. To get your feet off the ground and discover the island from above.
